Developing a Culture of Prayer in Your Church
To be truly biblical, prayer has to be more than just a program in the local
church. This teaching will challenge you to consider a culture of prayer in your church.
With a look at the biblical standard for prayer, you will be encouraged to think
differently about prayer as a corporate experience in your church.
The Quickening - A Study of the Core Principles and
Obstacles to Transformation
Using the Sentinel Group DVD called "The Quickening," this is a 14-part
study to take your group through these key elements and obstacles of transformation and
how to apply them to their lives to truly become agents of transformation.
A Church Prepared
September 11, 2001 taught the church a valuable lessonthat we are not as
prepared as we should be to minister in the time of crisis. This teaching will help your
church think and pray through preparation strategies so that you can be a church
prepared for whatever comes in the future.
Developing a Citywide Prayer Network
Many are called to prayer and are often operating in a variety of prayer
ministries and networks. This teaching will give ideas on how to coordinate a citywide
prayer effort.
Being Devoted to Prayer
This study looks at the Biblical standard for prayer in the
local church. Using the format of a word study, this course goes through the uses of the
word devoted in the New Testament, and then talks practically about how this
biblical standard can challenge churches in how they think about the level of prayer in
their church. Pastors and lay persons have expressed their wonder as they have been
challenged with this study. This study is excellent for your church leadership as well,
especially in a retreat setting.
Introduction to Intercession
An introductory study of intercession. The term intercession
is used often in church circles, but what is the truly biblical perspective? What are some
biblical examples of intercession, and how can we practically understand its place in our
lives and our churches? This teaching is a ground-level beginning course to help you and
your congregation understand the purpose of intercession and the place of the intercessor.
Deepening Your Prayer Life
This study looks at some of the misconceptions about prayer
and how to develop prayer as a relationship with God. In this study, you will look at
common wrong thinking about prayer, and then look at some practical ideas of how to change
your thinking and deepen your relationship with God in your prayer life. This is meant to
be an entry-level teaching on prayer.
Characteristics of Revival (Found in Revelation 1-3)
This teaching looks at the letters of Christ in Revelation 1-3
as characteristics of revival seen from Christs standard given to His Church. The
letter to each church uncovers new insight into the heart of Christ for His Church. Rather
than relegate these chapters of this amazing book to history or even prophecy, this study
seeks to show that these letters to the churches are very relevant for todays
churches as well.
God's Heart for Our City
Does God care about our citiesand if so, why? What do we
see in the Bible about Gods attitude toward cities? These questions are addressed in
this study in order to expand our understanding of why we should be concerned about our
cities. God cares, and so should we! From Genesis to Revelation this study will challenge
you to look in a different way at your city, and then challenge you regarding your
response.
Teach Us to Pray
The disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray. This study
looks at three elements of growing in prayer: relationship, maturing,
and vision. Without understanding and growth in these elements, we will not
increase in our prayer livesindividually or corporately. This study takes prayer
from the personal experience of grace with God to the vast vision of a lost
worldjust as Jesus modeled before His disciples. This study can be used as a basic
introduction to prayer for your congregation.
Why Don't We Pray?
Whether we are approaching God with a faulty lifestyle, wrong
worldview, or a misunderstanding of Scripture, this study takes a hard and careful look at
why the people of God do not pray as we ought. This study then addresses what we need to
do to correct the situation. We will look not only at why we dont pray, but address
very practical issues of what we need to do to become a people of prayer.
Prayer Walking Training
Whether prayer walking your neighborhood or taking a prayer
journey to a foreign land, this is the training you need. This will provide practical help
in knowing how to pray walk, what to pray, what to watch out for, and how to keep up the
momentum. Prayer walking is often called "praying on-site with insight. This
course will give your congregation an understanding of prayer walking with very practical
helps and examples. These techniques have been used and taught in cities in the US, as
well as with prayer journey teams to countries in Africa and Europe. They will help your
people be better prepared to prayer walk your community.
Praying for Your Pastors
It is helpful to have someone other than the pastor challenge
a congregation to pray for their pastor. This teaching will help the people in your
congregation know the unique challenges that face a pastor, as well as how to (and how not
to) pray for the pastor and family. This is a very enlightening and informational course
for the people of any church.
Prayer During Worship Services
Many pastors have testified to the difference they have seen
and felt when there are intercessors praying during the Sunday services. This study comes
from very practical experience in training intercessors for praying during the worship
services. Why is praying during the service important? How do you start? What do you need
to know to be effective? These are a few of the questions addressed in this very practical
training for intercessors.
Transformational Praying
In every place where true transformation is happening, prayer
is a key element in that movement of transformation. What does transformational praying
look like? This study looks at the real life examples of transformation, and the elements
that go into making up the transformational praying that ushers in a mighty work of God in
the transformation of society. These are very up-to-date and real world examples of prayer
at work.
The Early Church - A Praying Community
We live in a world today that looks little like the accounts
of the early church. Western and American independence have left believers isolated from
one another and from the concept of community (the Body of Christ) found in Scripture.
This course examines the biblical description of the early Church's corporate prayer life
and then how today's church measures up. What are the characteristics of the early
Church's prayer life that made them into people who turned their world upside down?
Inquiring of the Lord
This study takes a look at biblical examples of those who knew
how to inquire of the Lord and then demonstrates how to listen for the Lords leading
for practical areas of individual and corporate lives. Not much is taught about this very
biblical discipline, but there are many clear examples of those who sought the Lord at
critical times. There are also examples of the devastation that came from not inquiring of
the Lord. In this study you will receive clear and biblical help in becoming a person
who knows how to inquire of the Lord first!
The Place of Presence in Transformation
True transformation happens as the Presence of God invades
lives and communities. This understanding is essential to truly experience and know how to
pray for transformation. This teaching will look at the place of Presence in Scripture as
well as historical revivals and current transformation.
